FIRST REGULATED CODING CERTIFICATE FOR KIDS

Elite Coder is a 3-level certification programme organised by SINGAPORE SCIENCE CENTRE GLOBAL and MANGOSTEEMS, in partnership with FLYING CAPE. Elite Coder provides an assessment of a student’s understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and key coding concepts as defined under CSTA K-12 Computer Science Standards. Upon completing each assessment level, students will receive a scorecard indicating level of proficiency and a e-certification awarded by Singapore Science Centre Global.

Each assessment includes:

  • Preparatory training and Assessment
  • Scorecard from CodeMonkey & e-certification from Singapore Science Centre Global
  • 10 hours to 20 hours

LEVELS & CERTIFICATION

ELITE CODER BASIC COURSE

This workshop is to train and prepare students for the Elite Coder Level 1 Certification.

Elite Coder Level 1 format and criteria

Deep dive into the level 1 syllabus to familiarize students with Coding Fundamentals such as:

  • Simple Loops (times loop)
  • Variables
  • Array and Indexes
  • For Loops

ELITE CODER INTERMEDIATE COURSE

This workshop is to train and prepare students for the Elite Coder Level 2 Certification.

Elite Coder Level 2 format and criteria

Upon completion of Level 1, students will proceed into the Level 2 syllabus to familiarize themselves with intermediate coding concepts such as:

  • Functions
  • Conditional Loops (until)
  • Conditional Statements (if, if-else)
  • Boolean Operators (and, or)

ELITE CODER ADVANCED COURSE

This workshop is to train and prepare students for the Certified Elite Coder Certification.

Elite Coder Advanced format and criteria

Upon completion of Level 1 & 2, students will proceed to Elite Coder advanced syllabus to familiarise themselves with coding concepts such as:

  • Boolean Operator (not)
  • Comparison Operators (==, <, >)
  • Functions with return
  • Events (keyboard, mouse move, mouse click)

GAME-BASED PROGRAMMING
